This Dennis F8 fire engine, built in 1955, was one of more than 250 made by Dennis between 1952 to 1960. Powered by a six-cylinder Rolls Royce 4.25 litre B60 petrol engine with 4 speed manual gearbox and fitted with a rear mounted water tank and an Ajax escape ladder.

The appliance spent most of its life at King Street station Aberdeen before retiring and being passed to several oil companies in Aberdeen including Total. This vehicle was apparently the only one used by AFB so complemented the other larger models in the fleet.

After a busy career, it was kindly donated to The Grampian Transport Museum in 1988.
