The Ski-5 is based on the Sinclair C5, manufactured in 1985 which was described by Sinclair as ‘a vehicle’ not a car. The original C5 ran off a 12V lead-acid battery; had a 250W electric motor and a range of 20 miles, with a max speed of 15mph. Steering is by bike style handle bars. Unlike the C5, the Ski-5 has no motor and a custom made shell. Freddy Flintoff made a successful attempt to break the UK national speed limit with it by racing it down a bobsleigh track.
