Built in Glasgow, our Sentinel Steam Waggon is one of the early models fitted with rubber tyres, designed for regular use and robust frame capable of transport loads weighing around 6 to 10 tons.

A combination of simplicity and ingenuity for British transport: a double acting, two-cylinder engine, modern boiler and steadfast engineering   made the Sentinel a reliable vehicle for haulers, merchants, distillers and even firefighters.
Alexander Runcie Carrier of Inverurie acquired Sentinel 753, spending its early years locally. Designation number 753 marks this vehicle as one of the last ever Sentinels produced in Scotland.

By 1945, our Sentinel was operating for McIntosh of Forgue’s haulage fleet, near Huntly. In 1966, it was recovered and partly dismantled for preservation and in 2001 it came to Grampian Transport Museum.
