Look what the wind blew in!

Sunday 20th September dawned fine but windy for one of Scotland’s longest standing autojumbles at Alford based Grampian Transport Museum. That didn’t seem to deter the bargain hunters though, and as stall holders were tightening their gazebo guy ropes queues of rummagers were forming well ahead of the 9am opening.

Museum Manager, Ross McKirdy, was very pleased with the turnout “Our Spring and Autumn Autojumbles are two of our most popular events and people seem to travel from far and wide both to sell and to buy all sorts of garage and household bits and pieces. It never ceases to amaze me just what you can get here! Amongst the myriad of car and motorcycle parts, accessories, hand-books and tools there are models, household items and memorabilia to keep everybody interested. We were lucky with the weather - it was a bit blustery, but we had to open our overspill car park and even that quickly filled, it was a really good day.

“We also had a great turnout of staff and volunteers for what is an early start and we couldn’t have these events without them so I would like to say a big ‘Thank You’ to everyone who helped to make the day such a success.

“The Autumn Autojumble used to mark the end of our season but there is still lots happening at GTM this year with ‘Classics Unlimited’ this Saturday, our Drive-in Cinema season starting soon and Santa’s Grotto all to come. Full details are on our website at www.gtm.org.uk”
