An ‘eventful’ season ahead for Grampian Transport Museum

The 2025 season was the best-ever for Alford based Grampian Transport Museum, with over 33,500 visitors to the museum and events during the year. Museum Manager Ross McKirdy was delighted, “Without a doubt our ‘And On That Bombshell…’ exhibition of Top Gear vehicles was the star attraction last year and will be again in 2026, but our events, new and established, were also very popular. ‘Best of Grampian’, our new food and crafts event, took us by surprise with over 2500 attending in July, and ‘AllFord at Alford’ is now the leading Ford based event in Scotland.”

The GTM events programme for the 2026 season has just been announced with a mixture of the most popular existing events and some exciting new ones. You can check them all out on our What's On page on the website.

Ross continued, “As well as these events, visitors and members who have been before will notice changes in our museum displays. Each year we aim to change around a third of our displays to keep the whole experience interesting and relevant. 2026 will also see some exciting developments in our exhibition interpretation, adding to the experience of every visitor. It has been an extremely busy winter here at GTM thanks to all the efforts of our staff and volunteers. Our aim is to tell every visitor the story of going places through our exhibition and events, and we are looking forward to meeting every one of them!”
