Our museum includes hundreds of small and large displays, most of which can be seen up close. Favourites include stagecoaches from before ‘Railway Mania’, a snowplough that we’ve actually used and racing cars from all eras.

Our facilities can be made available to store bags and jackets, and there is also a nice place to enjoy lunch if the weather outside is less welcoming! We’ll end the visit in style when the magnificent 1923 Mortier Dance Organ (a great favourite with young and old) is demonstrated playing a couple of tunes for all to enjoy!

Please explore our Teacher’s Guide prior to completing the booking form so that your pupils get the most from an educational visit to the GTM. It is full of suggestions and ideas for project work that can be carried out prior to, during and after a visit.

To make a booking please contact us on 01975 562292 to find out if the date you have chosen is available. We’d then like you to confirm your requirements on the booking form below and return to the museum office by email or post.

For groups including children aged 4-10 years old the Junior Driving School can be included and is a fantastic introduction to road safety. Please see below for the attached information & booking sheet.

College Student?

If you’re a college or mature student who needs more information about a particular transport subject, our collection of photographs and archives are at your disposal. We work hard to offer maximum access to the information that the GTM holds.

Across a wide range of subjects, the GTM is here to help. From photographing historic artefacts to researching transport heritage, we hope we can help.

Please call 01975 562292 for more details.
