A division of Jeanneau Newco, the largest luxury yacht builder in Europe, began to sell fibre glass bodied small cars in 1971.  The Microcar Virgo, introduced in 1998, set new standards for licence exempt small cars.  The cars are made in a state of the art factory in Nantes, France.

The Virgo has a 505cc Lombardini petrol engine and weighs less than 400kg and is classed as a ‘heavy quadricycle’.

This means that it can be driven by motorcycle licence holders.  It offers four seats, 70 mph and 65 mpg.

Today Micro offer their M.GO in the B1 licence category for sale in the UK and also an M.GO electric EV variant.  Some 5500 are registered in Britain.
