For the first time, thanks to funding by Museums Galleries Scotland as part of the Scottish Government’s Get into Summer programme, supporting opportunities for children and young people to socialise, play and reconnect this summer.

we are able to offer the popular Junior Driving School, a great ‘learning through play’ experience, free of charge to 4 to 8 year old children in family groups.

Book your session here for a free 20 minute lesson to get your ‘first drivers licence’. (This activity is open air and weather dependent so please phone in to check for cancellation in bad weather).

This offer gives free access to the museum frontage which includes outside exhibits, an adventure play area, picnic facilities and the Reception building with shop and toilet. If you wish to view the museum itself you will need to book that separately….. BOOK A MUSEUM VISIT HERE.

CAUTION

Please note that this facility is suitable for 4 to 8 year old children ONLY.

Younger children often simply cannot reach the foot controls or drive the electric cars safely. Staff will ask ages if there are any doubts and this can cause great upset when access has to be refused.

Our experience similarly tells us that children above 8 years old can be too big and do not always enjoy the experience. Please help us to continue to offer this great facility by sticking to this simple rule.
