One of the country’s best loved comedians, Billy Connolly, has a passion for travelling around the world in style and you can come face to face with one of his stunning motortrikes.

Boom of Sontheim, Germany, are a well known maker of motor tricycles.  This Lowrider model was purchased for Billy Connolly’s televised World Tour of England, Ireland and Wales in 2001.

The trike uses a VW Beetle engine that was tuned and fuel injected by a specialist garage in Banchory.  Boom offer a wide range of machines based on powerful car and motorcycle engines.  They are credited with being well designed and basically safe to ride, although judging the width in traffic is difficult!
