Schools & Colleges

The GTM houses a unique and exciting transport collection giving ample scope for successful school visits which will educate, excite and entertain children of all ages - from pre-school to primary and secondary school.

Two short tours/talks are available and can be booked and incorporated into the visit: The Story of the Car or The Story of the Cycle.

The meetings room can be made available to store bags and jackets, and is also a nice place to enjoy lunch if the weather outside is less welcoming!  And to end the visit in style the magnificent 1923 Mortier Dance Organ (a great favourite with young and old) will be demonstrated playing a couple of tunes for all to enjoy!

Please explore our ‘Teachers Guide' booklet to find out more.  It is full of suggestions and ideas for project work that can be carried out prior to, during and after a visit.

To make a booking please contact us to find out if the date you have chosen is available. Then confirm your requirements on the booking form below and return to the museum office by fax, email or post.

For groups including children aged 4-10 years old the Junior Driving School can be included and is a fantastic introduction to road safety. Please see below for the attached information & booking sheet.
