Join us to celebrate Mother's Day with prestige vehicles rides for all the family. This event is included in the standard museum admission fee.
The second day of Grampian Transport Museum’s 2019 season falls on Sunday 31st March, Mothering Sunday, and so the staff have laid on a special treat for all the mums who visit that day. In the afternoon volunteers will bring a range of classic and prestige cars to give mothers a free chauffeured ride around the museum’s track and when they arrive at the museum they’ll find the reception staff welcoming them with chocolates!
The day is being organised by GTM events coordinator Neil Thomson “Mums are very special visitors to the museum throughout the year, bringing their families along to have a great day out. We thought Mother’s Day was an excellent opportunity to give them their own treat.
“A number of our members will be bringing a range of their own classic cars, from Bull-nose Morris to Jaguar – including an amazing 1960’s original Ford Thunderbird. There is also a very special ‘first’ for the museum and for local mothers with a limited number of rides in the only mini based ‘Outspan Orange’ in private ownership. The rides are included free in the museum entry ticket and to add to the treat we’ll have sweeties and chocolates for mums at reception. The museum is open from 10 am, with rides from 2-4pm.
